Crystal is an actor and writer. She has originated roles in world premier plays at theaters including Playwrights Horizons, MTC, Roundabout, PlayCo, WP Theater, Fulcrum, 59E59 and more. She is an affiliated artist with Clubbed Thumb, where she has developed, workshopped and performed in dozens of new works including two iterations of Will Arbery’s Plano and most recently, Deep Blue Sound, by Abe Koogler. She made her Broadway debut in Noah Haidle’s Birthday Candles, for which she won a Theatre World Award. As a writer she has written plays for herself and others, including The Faire, which was produced by Fault Line Theatre, and her solo show Becoming Liv Ullmann at Cleveland Playhouse. She has developed plays with Clubbed Thumb in their Early-career Writers’ Group and was a semi-finalist for their Biennial Commission. Her play Ms. Lily was directed by Josiah Davis for Clubbed Thumb Winterworks. She also loves to write essays! Such as this one in American Theatre Magazine.
